The Mandalorian (2020)

Is it wrong to worry too much about the science of those jet packs in THE MANDALORIAN?

They’d never fly.

Or wonder why the guns still carry round-eye telescopic sights when most of the characters are wearing slit-helmets (with glass across the slits). The slit-helmet soldiers in THE JEDI (s2, ch13) barely used the telescopic sights in battle (many died) and I was concerned it was because their gun sights were obviously impractical the wrong shape. Why didn’t they have guns with sights that worked with their helmets?

Why does everyone, everywhere, speak English?

I suppose I don’t mind that the stormtroopers still stumble into the heroes’ line of fire while aiming really badly themselves... though it does rather kill any sense of jeopardy.

I guess when you have Michael Biehn, Carl Weathers, Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito and Rosario Dawson showing up, it doesn’t really matter.

I do love it that Baby Yoda is a practical effect. Thank Christ he wasn’t animated in CGI.
